Ha egy adott szárrész juvenilis állapotú, akkor annak a tényleges életkora másodlagos szerepet játszik a gyökeresedőképességben. A nehezen gyökeresedő
A University College London kutatói laboratóriumi fonálférgeken vizsgálják a juvenilis hormon hatását.

PubMed PubMed Central Google Scholar Juvenile hormone regulates metamorphosis in insects, and its effects on the nervous system during the larval-pupal transition have been studied primarily in the hawk moth, Manduca sexta. The effects of juvenile hormone on the nervous system of adult insects have been little studied. Juvenile Hormone III (JH III) is a sesquiterpanoid found in insects which regulates important physiological processes such as reproduction and metamorphosis. JH III is biosynthesized via the mevalonate pathway and is metabolized by JH esterase and JH epoxide hydrolase terminating the activity of the hormone. Juvenile hormone (JH) controls insect metamorphosis. High JH titers maintain the larval state while a decrease in the JH titer initiates the pupation sequence [2] as well as a change in tissue commitment away from synthesis of larval tissues to pupal tissues at the pupal stage.
